Description

DHA – an important structural component of the eye’s retina

As the deepest and photosensitive layer of the eye, the retina is made up of nervous tissue and plays a crucial role in vision. Incident light rays collected by the retina are transformed and transmitted through the optic nerve to the brain, which further converts the signal into an image. One of the ten layers that make up the retina consists of photoreceptors. Up to 35–50% of the building blocks of photoreceptors are DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid.

For the normal development of vision in infants up to 12 months

The eye is a highly complex organ, which is why its development is influenced by various factors. Substances that make up the structural components of both the eye and its parts are also very important. Supplying omega-3 DHA fatty acids is extremely important for the normal development of vision, especially during the first year of life, a critical period of development. The beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 100 mg of DHA.
